UH Foresight at the WFSF 50th Anniversary Conference

This past week I was lucky to spend with my University of Houston Foresight friends in Paris at the World Futures Studies Federation 50th anniversary conference. Not only did I get to present my own work from ‘The Futures Arcana Deck’ + ‘When the Future Dies’, but I also helped behind the scenes with an amazing team led by the incredible Helga Veigl.

The UH Foresight Program also received our program accreditation from the Federation which was an incredible moment as we cheered on Andy Hines and the work he has put into one of the best programs in the Foresight world.

What I continue to find is that not only do we have talented individuals from the Univ of Houston who believe in academic rigor and producing excellent futures studies work, but people who also believe in sharing deep intimacy and community-building with one another. Cheers to the late night talks into the wee hours of morning, for playing just as hard as we work, for sharing our hopes and dreams with each other and supporting one another as we continue to expand in the world. I’m grateful to be part of the futures we’re building. Thank you for letting me be a part of this story we’re telling.

Juli Rush is an educator and administrator in Houston, Texas. She is also a certified death doula and foresight strategist, with a focus on partnering futures with death and grief processing. Juli is passionate about teaching, facilitating and coaching students, individuals and organizational systems going through transitions and change. Her recent project, ‘When the Future Dies’, focuses on transitional grief and futures’ death utilizing esoteric practices and foresight methods. She was recently named the Foresight Activation Lab Director for the University of Houston’s Foresight Program.
