  • Leading futures and strategic foresight projects, including design and execution, to anticipate and manage potential changes in the strategic operating environment that could impact the security and resilience of National Critical Functions (NCFs).
  • Applying expert technical and professional knowledge of engineering, physical science, and/or economics to the analysis of interdependencies, dependencies and potential future systemic conditions across the National Critical Functions (NCFs) and the critical infrastructure systems that support them.
  • Analyzing and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management activities for critical infrastructure systems through the examination of interdependencies, vulnerabilities, consequences, and other complexities through the lens of alternative futures.
  • Creating knowledge products to facilitate understanding of present and future needs for National Critical Functions (NCFs) and the formulation of alternative risk mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluating current and future demand for critical infrastructure services and formulating alternative policies and ways of potentially meeting those needs for services and programs.
  • Planning and participating in joint seminars, workshops, analyses, studies, games, exercises and conferences that support the development, validation, and implementation of alternative futures and scenarios and risk management strategies and concepts.
