Houston Futures’ alum Dennis Draeger forwarded this email about an exciting employment opportunity:
Shaping Tomorrow is preparing for a major global client launch over the next few months that will see us grow to around five times our current size.
We are consequently looking for experienced writers on future trends and changes in various global sectors. Topics will be diverse spanning several channels (most major business sectors, communities and industries). Format will range from short Trend Alerts to longer Trend Letters and full Briefing reports with associated presentational material. We need a mix of writers from and with experience of different regions (particularly the emerging economies and countries), different industries and backgrounds.
We are looking for people who can write challengingly, explore and present a topic from different perspectives, develop creative/ innovative ideas and insights, in a style that engages and is accessible and punchy to a very professional, demanding business audience.
And, we also need to recruit several new professional editors to our slate to cope with the expected steady stream of customised materials that will be produced for each channel.
You will be paid good commercial rates for your work.
Are you interested? If so, please send
1) a short bio indicating topics of interest, areas of expertise, general experience – 250 – 300 words or so – if you want to add in a longer publications/ project list we can pick and mix from that is fine. Including any specific geographic focus.
2) details of your availability (full-time, part-time casual etc.)
3) a short item you have written – up to 1000 words – so we can see style etc, and could if need be send it to the client – include source/ audience etc. if that is relevant.
5) anything else you think might be useful for us.
If we are unable to use you on this project, we will add your name to the active list of possible writers and editors for other assignments.
Please mailto: mike.jackson@shapingtomorrow.com with your application.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope you will want to extend international foresight practice and influence through this exciting initiative.
