Congrats to students Heather Benoit Kampa and JT Mudge for both receiving 1st place in the Association of Professional Futurists’ Masters Individual category.

JT’s topic was The Future of Sustainability on Pacific Pelagic Fisheries and Heather’s was The Future of Truth.

About the competition

Students who do outstanding work deserve recognition for that work, and institutions that develop outstanding students also deserve recognition. That concept has led the Association of Professional Futurists to develop a competition to recognize outstanding work by students in futures studies.

The scope of the competition

Each university can submit up to five student works that the university considers to be of exceptional quality in terms of originality, content, and contribution to the field. No more than three entries can be submitted in any one category, i.e. graduate individual. Submissions may include papers or projects by individuals and team and must be formal papers, projects, and products.

Criteria

  • Quality of Content
  • Originality
  • Contribution to the field of foresight & futures studies
  • Appearance and presentation

Judging

Judging is by a committee consisting of four to 10 members from across APF membership. Ideally, three members will come from Australasia, three from Europe/Africa and three from the Americas, plus a Chair and Review Coordinator.
