  • The Senior Foresight Strategist (FS) is responsible for end-to-end execution of projects, at times as the project lead and at times as project support.
  • Project topics will vary in scope, from primary research deep-dives to broad market scans. An understanding of future-oriented markets, users, trends, and the automotive industry is required to successfully execute desk, online, and field research using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods for a final customized analysis for Mercedes-Benz business units.
  • The Senior FS must be able to quickly assess and understand the needs of internal partners, and define research goals in alignment with the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Within each project, responsibilities include: framing the problem, project planning and management, research, data synthesis and analysis, insight development, final report or deliverable creation, successful transfer/presentation to stakeholders, and project partner relationship management.
  • The Senior FS will advocate for a U.S. POV in global processes and decision-making forums, influencing innovation and product development. Therefore, effective written, spoken, and visual communication with cross-cultural and cross-functional team members and executive management is essential.
  • Occasional travel domestically and internationally to present research findings, collaborate with global counterparts, and/or to conduct field research.
  • Regular collaboration with global peers in Germany and China—for project, process, or insight sharing.
  • This role is 60% to 80% independent and 20% to 40% collaborative (including inter- and intra-team collaboration, relationship management, as-needed project supervision and mentoring of junior or temporary employees).
  • Regular presentations/reports including emerging trends, competitor landscape analyses and strategic calls for action are the expected outcome
