If you’ve been meaning to add foresight to your toolkit – scenario building, scanning, drivers, implications, and strategy – October is your moment. The University of Houston’s Professional Certificate in Foresight (Virtual) runs Wednesdays, October 1–29, 2025, 9:00 AM–12:30 PM (CST), with collaborative small-group work between sessions.
This is an intensive, project-based boot camp built around our Framework Foresight method. You’ll take a sample project from framing → scanning → drivers → scenarios → implications → options – guided by an experienced faculty team that’s trained 1,000+ professionals across sectors. Graduates earn a Professional Certificate in Foresight from the University of Houston and a Credly badge; complete an optional project afterwards to qualify for our Certificate of Achievement (which satisfies one criterion to join the Association of Professional Futurists).
What you’ll learn (and actually use)
- Frame complex challenges and map today’s system clearly.
- Build evidence-based drivers and baseline vs. transformational futures.
- Craft scenarios and extract third-order implications that shift decisions.
- Design a portfolio of options across time horizons and set up monitoring.
Format at a glance
- Live Zoom sessions: 3.5 hours each Wednesday in October.
- Peer collaboration: Expect 1–3 hours of small-group homework between sessions.
- Cohort size: 30-35 – limited seats to keep interaction high.
Investment
-
Virtual tuition: $2,000 per participant. (Seats are confirmed upon payment; payment deadlines apply.)
Why Houston Foresight
Our program distills the first four courses of the UH Foresight master’s into a concentrated, practice-first experience. Participants routinely highlight how immediately useful the tools are. As one attendee put it, “a week that is both insightful and actionable.”
