Marta Keane (class of 2012) and Bob Moran (class of 201) contributed scenarios to a recent Special Report published in the Futurist: The 22nd Century at First Light: Envisioning Life in the Year 2100.
Contributors were asked to share their “forecasts, scenarios, wild cards, dreams, and nightmares” on what various aspects of the world might look at the turn of the next century – 88 years from now.
Marta’s piece is: “Healthy Aging in the 22nd Century.” She speculates that: “To be born in 2012 and only be 88 years old in 2100 will probably mean middle age rather than elderhood.” She explores health from the physical, socio-emotional, spiritual and  intellectual dimensions.
Bob’s piece is” “Meaning for Miranda” He covers the “four corners of humanity:” (1) Remarkable physical wealth (2) Craving for authenticity (3) Decline of traditional religious belief and (4) Redefinition of the age-old concept of “Free Will.”
It’s great to see our grads putting their foresight perspective to good use. At Houston Futures, we’re always happy to acknowledge the work of community members, so please do share any news about how you’ve applied, published or written about the future. It’s a good way for us all to stay in touch and inspire one another. Andy Hines
